Here we go! So blessed and thankful to God to be in the last days of 2018 with all its goodness.
We are expectantly looking forward to a beautiful New Year ahead and that, I wish us all.

looking back...

Taking a review of the past months of 2018, I believe that one area of our lives we would want to build up on is our WELLNESS. “HEALTH IS WEALTH” indeed.

​

 Wellness could be defined as a general feeling of wellbeing,  good physical, emotional, mental, social, relational health and fitness .  It’s usually more about the whole being and body in general and not focusing on just one particular aspect.

​

Wellbeing model (by Mary Jo Kreitzer, RN, PhD, FAAN
Director, Center for Spirituality & Healing ) explains what wellbeing really means . It’s a state of balanced alignment with your body, mind and spirit. 
The major aspects of wellbeing as indicated on the Wellbeing Model are: Health, relationships, security, Purpose, community and Environment.

 

With little practice and changes to our lifestyles we can improve our health and wellbeing for the better.

-Where am I today with my health and wellbeing? Your steps to Wellbeing is usually unique to you .
- what did I do well in the last year ??
- How can I do better the things I did well??
- what changes / steps can I make?
- How can I help others make those proactive steps to a better state of wellness.
- How can I be a practical example of being-well.

My tips for wellness

WATER TO START YOUR MORNING

It is refreshing to Start the day with a fresh glass of water even before brushing your teeth. Keep hydrating and rehydrating your cells throughout the day.

DEEP BREATHS

Deep breathing has a relaxing effect on your body and its good getting more oxygen in your system. "Begin with you breathing for improved health and wellness. Controlling your breath and making a practice or regular , deep breathing may be one easy way to lower you stress level as well as provide many other health benefits"

MEDITATION

A time of reflective quietness especially in the mornings before you star your day, sets you on the right path for the day.

MORE LAUGHTER

 Create those happy moments . Laughter brings healing

FORGIVNESS IS HEALING

HAVE A WRITTEN PLAN FOR THE DAY

Thats what we commonly call “To Do list”for the day.
Helps you organize all you have for the day, very effective for time management.
Careful not to overload your To Do List. 
• Remember to build in rest into your planed actives for day..

AVOID PROCRASTINATION

Procrastination is a thief of time.

MOVE MORE

Endeavor to build in exercises as much as possible into your daily activities. 
Have exercise buddy(s) for accountability , join exercise groups around you.
At least 150minutes of exercise a week. You can build up on this gradually if you can.

BETTER SLEEP

Keep regular sleeping time,
Wind down in preparation for sleep 
-a warm bath, writing to do list for the next day helps organize your thoughts, 
- relaxation exercises and stretches 
- reading a book or listening to Audio radio or gentle music 
- make your bedroom sleep friendly .

EAT WELL

Make healthier choices of food and snacking - more of vegetables and fruits .
Low fat, low salt, low sugar , high fiber content food choices.
Portion size is key to healthy eating.

CREATE TIME FOR YOUR FRIENDS AND LOVED ONES

CHERISH your relationships and give it your time..

SOW INTO YOUR COMMUNITY

No matter how small. Impact the lives of people around you.
Be the  change that changes lives and community one little step after the other.
